Dr. Amanda Kahn
Episode 2: Brain Health
I sat down with Dr. Kahn for a bonus conversation about brain health, longevity, and why knowing your genetics actually gives you power instead of fear. I found out a few years ago that I carry the ApoE4 Alzheimer’s gene, and instead of ignoring it, I wanted to understand what I could do to support my brain long term. We talked about microdosing peptides, reducing inflammation, supporting mitochondria, and why the brain needs energy, hormones, and balance just like the rest of your body.
A big part of the conversation was about microdosing GLP peptides for brain support, not weight loss. For me, it’s about focus, memory, ADHD, and turning down the mental static, especially when I’m stressed. We also talked about how inflammation, oxidative stress, and hormones all play a role in brain health as we age, and that there are things you can do to support yourself if you know what to look for.
WHAT I USE / WHAT WE TALK ABOUT USING
Peptides + Therapies
Microdosed GLP peptides (for brain health, focus, and neuroinflammation, not weight loss)
Thymosin Alpha-1 for immune and autoimmune support
NAD for cellular energy and brain support
Glutathione for antioxidant support and neuroprotection
Foundational Health Focus
Anti-inflammatory eating
Reducing oxidative stress
Supporting mitochondria
Hormone balance and regulation
Managing stress to protect long-term brain health
Lifestyle + Mindset
Working with a real doctor instead of guessing
Running labs and adjusting protocols as you age
Taking small, consistent steps instead of doing nothing out of fear
