My Hair Extension Routine
What I use for length and volume
A lot of you know I wear hair extensions, and I’ve wanted to demystify that for a long time. After chemotherapy in my 30s and years of overprocessing, my hair never really grew the way I wanted. Clip-in extensions became my solution for adding fullness and length without damaging my natural hair. I love using tools that help me feel more like myself. Extensions are like makeup or getting dressed. They’re easy, and there’s no shame in wanting a little extra volume.
I’ve struggled with my hair for most of my life, and clip-in extensions changed everything. They give me fullness and length without the damage of glue, tape, or bonds, and they’ve actually helped my natural hair grow over time. The key is matching the color and texture, having your stylist cut them to blend, and wearing only what you need. Some days I wear a full set, some days just a few pieces. It takes minutes, it’s easy, and it makes a difference. Hair should be fun, not stressful.
