Dr. Amanda Kahn
Episode 3: Hormone Talk
This is the third and final episode with Dr. Amanda Kahn, and in this one we talk hormones, estrogen, and perimenopause. I used to think I wasn’t a candidate for hormone therapy because of my family history and my tumor history. I lived in fear of it for a long time. But after doing more research, talking to female oncologists, and having real conversations with Dr. Kahn, I realized I didn’t want to ignore what was happening in my body anymore.
We talk about bioidentical hormones, microdosing progesterone, and why transdermal estrogen is different from oral synthetic hormones. We talk about mood swings, sleep, hot flashes, brain fog, and how so much of perimenopause gets dismissed. This conversation is about advocating for yourself, asking better questions, and working with a doctor who is actually evolving with science instead of defending a textbook.
