Nicole Berrie — Bonberi Mart

A Fall Refresh of the Jennifer Fisher Salad

I went to see my friend Nicole Berrie, founder of Bonberi Mart — one of my favorite spots in the city. Nicole and I go way back. A few years ago, we created the original Jennifer Fisher Salad, and it completely took off. For Trust Your Gut, we wanted to bring it back — a new version that felt warmer, heartier, and more fall-forward.


THE TRUST YOUR GUT SALAD AT BONBERI MART

Nicole has been in the plant-based scene long before I was — she’s an OG. Her food, her energy, everything she does felt effortless. This new salad kept the same foundation as our first — clean, fresh, and satisfying — but evolved with deeper flavors and seasonal ingredients.


We added roasted Moroccan-spiced carrots from my cookbook, curried cauliflower seasoned with my Curry Salt, and crispy chickpeas for texture. There’s crunchy romaine and arugula, Persian cucumbers with the skins on, red onion, creamy cashew feta, and a drizzle of my mustard vinaigrette — this time without the dill, swapped for fresh parsley to keep it Mediterranean and fall-forward.


It was everything I love about clean food: balanced, grounding, and satisfying. And it was gut-friendly — full of prebiotic fiber, cruciferous veggies, healthy fats, and color. If you loved the original Jennifer Fisher Salad, you’d be obsessed with this one — cozier, warmer, and built for the season.


NOTES
